Hey, I’m Courtney! I am a digital media student, and web designer and developer. Currently I am developing and polishing my web design and development skills at Vancouver Island University.
When I first began teaching myself HTML and CSS, it was Neopets that sparked the interest, and I always thought it would be just be a hobby. But, I decided that it’s more than that to me. It’s what I love to do!
Spring 2010 I completed the Internet Production (iPro) diploma program at VIU. In this program, I continued to develop my XHTML and CSS skills, while also learning and working with Javascript, PHP & MySQL, blog implementation, Content Management Systems (CMS), usability and user experience research, and e-commerce. I also used programs in the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium package, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, and Dreamweaver.
I was going to finish my education with my diploma. But I love to learn! I am always adding to my knowledge by researching and learning new technologies. Because of this, I am continuing my education, and I am looking to graduate from VIU in Spring 2012 with my Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media Studies. I am really looking forward to this new part of my journey!
Outside of the web development world, I enjoy horseback riding and competing in the hunter/jumper circuit on the island, hanging out with friends, going to concerts, reading, travelling the world, watching my favorite television shows, and photography.
